SEO strategy built around your website and business

I do not start SEO work by simply choosing a list of keywords and creating pages around them. I first want to understand your website, your business, your customers, your competition, and what you want SEO to accomplish.

I look at how your website currently performs in Google, how your important pages are structured, what people are searching for, how competitors are appearing in search results, and whether technical problems are preventing your website from performing as well as it could.

From there, I create a practical SEO strategy that focuses on the areas that can make the biggest difference. That may include technical SEO, keyword research, content optimization, internal linking, website structure, local SEO, WordPress optimization, or ongoing search strategy.

What I look at during an SEO consultation

Every website has different problems. Some websites need technical improvements before more content is created. Others have good technical foundations but are targeting the wrong searches or do not have enough useful content around important topics.

My SEO consulting process is designed to find those differences instead of applying the same checklist to every business.

  • Website structure, navigation, and important landing pages
  • Keyword opportunities and search intent
  • Google search results and competitor visibility
  • Technical SEO issues that can affect crawling and indexing
  • Page titles, headings, content structure, and on-page optimization
  • Internal linking and relationships between important pages
  • Local search opportunities and location-based landing pages
  • Website performance, mobile experience, and Core Web Vitals
  • Google Search Console and available search performance data
  • Existing content that can be improved instead of unnecessarily replaced

Keyword research based on what people actually want

Keyword research is more than finding keywords with high search volume. I want to understand why someone is searching, what information they need, and what type of page is most useful for that search.

I look at search intent, related searches, competing pages, service keywords, informational searches, local searches, and longer and more specific queries that may be valuable to the business.

This helps me build a keyword and content strategy that supports the website as a whole instead of creating disconnected pages simply to target more keywords.

Technical SEO that supports better search visibility

Technical SEO is an important part of my consulting work. A website can have excellent content, but technical problems can still make it difficult for search engines to crawl, understand, or index the right pages.

Depending on the website, I may review crawling, indexing, redirects, canonical URLs, internal links, XML sitemaps, website architecture, page performance, mobile usability, structured data, and other technical SEO signals.

I also look at whether technical changes are actually necessary. I prefer practical solutions over making technical changes simply because an SEO tool reports an issue.

Content strategy and on-page SEO

Good SEO content should help the person who arrives on the page. I focus on making important pages useful, clear, well structured, and closely connected to the search intent they are targeting.

This can include improving page titles, headings, introductions, service descriptions, supporting information, internal links, calls to action, and the overall organization of the content.

For larger websites, I can also help organize content into related topics so the website has a clearer structure and users can easily move between relevant pages.

Competitor and Google search analysis

I also study the search results for important topics. This helps me understand which types of pages are competing, what information those pages provide, where competitors have strong visibility, and where there may be opportunities for a better result.

The goal is not to copy competitors. I use competitor research to understand the market and then look for ways your website can provide something more useful, more complete, or more relevant to the people you want to reach.

Local SEO for businesses targeting specific markets

If your business serves specific cities, counties, regions, or local markets, I can build SEO strategies around those geographic opportunities.

Local SEO may involve service-area pages, location content, local search intent, website structure, internal linking, Google Business Profile considerations, and improving the connection between your services and the areas you serve.

I focus on creating useful local pages rather than producing large numbers of nearly identical pages. Each important location should have a real reason to exist and provide useful information to the visitor.

SEO for WordPress websites

I have extensive experience working with WordPress websites and can combine SEO consulting with website improvements when necessary.

This can include improving website structure, optimizing templates, fixing technical SEO problems, improving page speed, reviewing plugins, improving mobile usability, and making sure important content is easy for both visitors and search engines to find.

If the website needs development work as part of the SEO strategy, I can also help with the implementation rather than stopping at recommendations.

SEO reporting and measuring progress

SEO needs to be measured against the actual goals of the website. Depending on the project, I may review organic traffic, impressions, clicks, rankings, indexed pages, landing-page performance, conversions, technical improvements, and other useful signals.

I use performance data to understand what is improving, what still needs attention, and where the next opportunities may be. I do not believe that one ranking position tells the complete story of SEO performance.

My approach to SEO consulting

I have been working in digital marketing since 2012 and have specialized in SEO across several competitive industries. My work has included legal websites, financial advisors, local service businesses, e-commerce websites, real estate, and other established websites.

Over the years, I have learned that successful SEO is usually about making the right improvements in the right order. More content is not always the answer. More backlinks are not always the answer. Sometimes the biggest opportunity is fixing the website itself.

That is why I start with the actual situation rather than selling a fixed list of SEO tasks.

Who can benefit from my SEO consulting?

My SEO consulting services are designed for business owners and website owners who want experienced, implementation-focused SEO guidance.

I commonly work with:

  • Law firms and DUI or criminal defense attorneys
  • Financial advisors and wealth management firms
  • Local service businesses
  • E-commerce and online businesses
  • Established websites with technical SEO problems
  • Businesses that have outgrown basic SEO services
  • Website owners who need a clear SEO roadmap

What makes my SEO consulting different?

I keep my approach practical. I do not want to bury you in complicated SEO terminology or give you a generic report that does not explain what should actually happen next.

When I identify an issue or opportunity, I explain what I found, why I think it matters, and what I recommend doing about it.

I also look at implementation. If a recommendation cannot realistically be implemented on your website, it is not a very useful recommendation.

My goal is to help you build a stronger website and a clearer search strategy that can support your business over the long term.
